Wastedge SMS Integration
Wastedge SMS functionality is an add-on module that can be added to your existing subscription.
Wastedge SMS capabilities allows users to send SMS reminders to customers for a variety of different purposes.
These SMS messages can currently be sent for two main purposes:
AR reminders (from the Aged Trial Balance Review screen)
Booking reminders (from any of the Bookings views)
To facilitate this we have created a new screen called 'SMS templates' where people can define the layout and content of the text messages.
This is similar to HTML Email templates where a user can type in text and merge fields. The merge fields used in SMS messages are the same as those used on HTML Email templates and can be found under the Setup > PDF Templates menu.
In the template it is possible to define 'who' to send the messages to. There are three options:
Phone number 1 field
Phone number 2 field
Contact person with position xxx where the user can select a position.
Text messages for that template will be sent to either to the phone number 1 or 2 field, or to all contact persons of the customer with that title/position. This applies for both customer and booking templates as both have the phone number 1 and 2 fields. Contacts only have 1 phone number field.Once the template has been defined it can be sent using the Once these SMS templates have been set up they will be visible in the action dropdown of the Aged Trial Balance review screen as "SMS - [Template Name]"....or on the Bookings View under the SMS screen as "[Template Name]".
When the SMS is being sent Wastedge will calculate the number of messages per SMS, i.e.:
1 – 160 characters = 1 Message
161 – 306 characters = 2 Messages
307 – 459 characters = 3 Messages
460 – 612 characters = 4 Messages
613 – 765 characters = 5 Messages
766 – 918 characters = 6 Messages
919 – 1071 characters = 7 Messages
1072 – 1224 characters = 8 Messages
Wastedge will show a dialogue to the users stating 'You are about to send xx SMS messages.
If the user confirms a batch process will start send out these SMS messages. The batch pop-up window will keep you posted on the progress of the process.
The customer or contact will receive an SMS message with the fields merged into the message and/or payment links included for direct payment of an outstanding balance using AMCS Pay for Wastedge.
To keep track of the messages sent there is an ability to view an SMS log, showing which messages were sent succesfully. There is also an ability to view this SMS log on each Customer Detail screen for a particular customer. If you want to know more about the Wastedge SMS functionality and how to enable it please contact your Wastedge Account manager.
Users are allowed to configure a Custom "SMS Sender ID", e.g. "SYDCOUNCIL", using below Branch level setting named "SMS Sender ID" on the Company settings page
This can be 11 characters maximum with no spaces. Note: The receiver will not be able to reply.
Any Sender ID needs to be registered by AMCS, so if a new Sender ID needs to be registered please email support with the Sender ID that would be used.
